Blogdosts, I just had to repeat the top picture which was shot by a friend in Colombo last year. This is what a winner looks like! I am glad I don't have a picture with Afridi - but by now the whole world knows what a loser looks like - him! Sangakkara was grace itself in defeat... not just when he was in the host country, but even after getting back to Sri Lanka. By quitting, he has once again demonstrated his inherent class. He has cited age (he is 33) for opting out of the next World Cup. We have older players, but there's no talk of quitting or making space for younger players. That's the big difference.
As for Afridi's flip flop ( first you hate us, then you don't), come on, buddy. This just ain't cricket. It is sooooo declasse to badmouth your hosts! Some say he was scared of the Taliban after losing the match! That's a laugh. Cricket terrorism??

The second picture was sent to me by a friend in Hong Kong ( yoo hoo Rama!). What a circuitous route to get to me, considering it's from the current issue of 'Stardust'. Well, anyway... I rather liked it. Mainly because I rather like Urmila - such a wasted talent in Bollywood. She has it all... and yet!

I am off to Thailand tomorrow. Chances are I'll be gone from this space till the middle of the month. Promise to miss me truly, madly, badly!
After that - Bhutan and Thimpu for 'Mountain Echoes' - the second edition of the Lit Fest that is fast being recognised as a gem in the lit fest circuit. I shall be in excellent company for 3 packed days. And an extra 'retreat for writers' at Paro after that. Fun times ahead.....
